We recognise that we have a responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business as these are abuses of an individual’s freedoms and rights.Our People
Maze Living employs over 50 members of staff from our headquarters in Haverhill. We use a variety of methods to recruit staff, either internally or through recruitment agencies. We only use pre-approved recruitment agencies many of which we now have long-standing relationships.
All staff undergo comprehensive right to work checks prior to employment and sign general terms and conditions of employment. We undertake regular reporting on visa expiry dates on any overseas employees to minimise the risk of vulnerability due to a change in right to work status. We ensure robust pre-employment checks and regular monitoring of our employees’ right to work credentials.
We encourage a whistle blowing policy aimed at our employees, which encourages staff to report any wrongdoing, including human rights violations such as modern slavery or human trafficking. Any reports of this nature will be fully investigated, and appropriate remedial actions taken.Supply Chain
Modern slavery is a complex issue that can be difficult to detect within our overseas supply chain operations. Following on from our work in previous years, we have taken steps to minimise risk within our supply chains by encouraging SEDEX membership for key suppliers. We continue to collect accurate data to work with in engaging suppliers and understanding our risks and look forward to continuing to build SEDEX membership within the supply chain. This increased due diligence and risk assessment analysis will enable us to limit any potential for modern slavery with the supply chain.
We will shortly be engaging with a social enterprise and membership initiative to improve our due diligence processes to enable us to identify and assess potential risk areas in our business and supply chain.
